CARL HANSEN & SØN's excellent quality standards were established in 1908, when Carl Hansen opened a furniture workshop in the Danish city of Odense. The company's pride is the Wishbone chair, which was created in 1950 in collaboration with maestro of chair design Hans J. Wegner, and still feels contemporary. The Wing Chair and Shell Chair are also recognized worldwide.
